FLING INTO SPRING BY RECLAIMING SPACE AND PROTECTING VALUABLES DURING NATIONAL GARAGE ORGANIZATION MONTH

Are you one of the nearly seven out of 10 people who will clean and organize their home this spring?* As the changing season ushers in a renewed spirit to clean, Gladiator GarageWorks is recognizing the fifth annual National Garage Organization Month™ with product discounts that will help consumers rethink their garage.

In a recent consumer survey, nearly half (47%) of respondents who own cars indicated they do not shelter their automobiles in the garage and in the same survey, 37 percent of respondents defined “shelter” as an environment that provides protection. Whether it’s a car, tools, sporting equipment, or outdoor furniture everything stored in the garage has value. Without the proper organization and shelter these items begin to age and wear.

Gladiator GarageWorks pioneered National Garage Organization Month to encourage homeowners to reclaim their space and develop a suitable shelter to protect their valuables.

“As equally loud as we clamor and scream for more space our cherished yet often overlooked tools and equipment scream out for proper shelter and protection,” said Lou Ann Schafer, senior marketing manager, Gladiator GarageWorks. “National Garage Organization Month is the perfect time for garage owners to get started on cleaning their space by properly organizing and storing their valuables.”

To help, during the month of April, Gladiator GarageWorks will be offering a 15 percent discount on garage organization product purchases and 10 percent off appliance purchases on www.GladiatorGW.com.

Karl Champley, do−it−yourself expert and Gladiator brand spokesperson offers the following garage organization tips to help consumers get started during National Garage Organization Month:

  • Keep the sporting goods tidy: Stop runaway soccer balls, footballs and basketballs rolling around the garage floor by placing them in a basket. Not doing so can be unsightly and also dangerous as you can trip on a loose ball.
  • Dress up the floor: Whether its oil stains or left over residue from wintry slush and salt, consider garage flooring that’s easy to maintain and provides a finished look to the garage.
  • Stow away seasonal items: As the seasons change, store unused items behind closed doors. For instance, the Ready−to−Assemble Extra Large GearBox is perfect for putting away holiday decorations or storing potting soil.
  • Roll up the hose: Instead of cramming the hose in the corner of your garage, invest in a piece of GearTrack channel and a Deep Hook that will secure the hose to the wall for easy access and storage as you begin to water the lawn and wash the car again.

Whether it’s Facebook, Flickr, or Twitter, Gladiator brand has built various forums where consumers can collaborate on garage organization and share stories and photos about how they have recaptured their garage space.
